Hello to all of you! If you are new to joining this site, my name is rAwks and I use to be a writer for this site. I use to be a writer about the time when firmware 1.1.4 came out…it’s been a while. Even though I left the site for a while, I still kept my 1G iPod touch hacked to the max. I currently have 2.1 firmware installed on mine and I’m not upgrading yet…I think my device is perfect as is. If you need any help with your iPod touch, don’t be afraid to ask in a comment or even email is fine. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll be in search to find a correct answer for you. As all the writers on this site, we do have lives too…so I’ll try to reply ASAP. If you want to know more about me, read my first post I ever posted on this site.

   hey i was wondering if there is anyway to get the file or something i can download to get the 2.1 or 2.2 update for free. i don’t really want to buy it because apple isn’t being fair with ipod touch users. since we have to pay for the update and iphone users don’t.

   I have a 1.5 firmware right now and i jailbreaked it but it seems like you can’t really do much on a 1.5 jailbreaked ipod touch.

   just email me if you can or respond to this comment i usually check out this site everyday for updates.

   p.s i have the ipod touch 1st generation.

   Unfortunately I can’t post that stuff on the site, but you can google it. Just google search something like “ipod touch 2.0 ipsw”. You can find any of the firmwares, but I just used that 2.0 for an example. Hope that helps out. If you need more help, let me know. Hope all goes well!

   Unfortunately, there’s no jailbreak for the 2nd Generation iPod touch (the one with built in speaker). You just have to wait until there is one released. Hope all goes well!

   Yo Rawks I want to thank you for telling me to search for the ipod touch update on google. i found the update for the itouch. its a file for the 2.0 update and when i installed it itunes thought i purchased it and i got the 2.2 update for free.

   chika you have to back up you songs, movies, ect on itunes sooo you don’t lose your music and other stuff. then you can try and jailbreak your ipod touch.

   remember you can’t jailbreak the 2nd generation ipod touch yet.

    my firmware is 2.2. i think i jailbroke my ipod touch wrong with quick pwn 2.2 the first time, but it worked for a little while. then it said something crashed and my ipod had to be restarted, then when i did i had to restore it back. i tried to jailbreak it again and it got stuck on the wait while your iphone is recovered thing so i stopped it. then i plugged my ipod back in and it said it had to be restored so i did. then i tried to jailbreak it again and it did the same thing. so i stopped and and opened itunes and it made me restore it again. its like a giant circle. can you please help me???

    Rawks, welcome back man. Hopefully you can help me. I am still using 1.1.4 but would like to update my Touch 1G. I posted this question as to the process a hile back and didn’t get anywhere. Things like where to get everything and the process. any help would be appreciated.
