   Everything worked fine for me until IPSW Builder. The ipod (music ipod NOT an iphone) rebooted but did not come back with the itunes logo, it’s a black screen and is completely off. The restore in itunes threw an error that it failed and now I am unable to turn it back on by the power button. I could really use some help here…you can email me at shana@leatherfurniturestore.com

    Thanks for the site. You are right, I didn’t update soon enough. I had to try it a few times and was waiting to see if any bugs popped up. I write for noobz, but I will put up some material from now on that will be for more experienced hackers, like yourself I assume.

    the ziphone app messed up my hole itouch. for the last couple of hours all it says is BSD root and it keeps doing it over and over. i cant even shut off or do any thing with my itouch. what do i do!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I also have jailbroken my ipod touch 16GB using ziphone and winpwn, in both the installer just freezes. anyone any ideas on fixing this. also i was unable the add sources on the winpwn computer app.

    Hey Nick, I have exactly the same problem. I tried using ziphone to switch itouch into dfu mode, but no luck. I’ll keep searching and get back if I find a solution.

    if your ipod touch is got a black screen after using winpwn do this

    open itunes and keep a hold of the power on button and home

    until itunes detects it

    then restore it

    100% works i’ve jst had to do it

    10/19/2008 5:54:40 PM – OK
    10/19/2008 5:54:40 PM – Creating ramdisk
    10/19/2008 5:54:40 PM – Padding ramdisk
    10/19/2008 5:54:40 PM – Ramdisk successfully created
    And then it says to connect the ipod and put it inrecovery mode… and i do and it says this:
    10/19/2008 5:54:48 PM – iPod connected (DFU)
    But then nothing happends. I dont know what to do

    I changed my firmware to 1.1.4. But when i click on ipwner in winpwn process carries on. But after that it says rebooting. But my ipod freezes to on. Then i hv to restore my ipod. Plz help hw to pwner my ipod.

    Hi, I have an iPod touch 3gen 8gb 3.1.1. I managed to get it to the point that it showed the geohot image, but then it died. It WILL NOT boot back up.
    iTunes says that it detects an ipod in recovery, but blackra1n just says “waiting for phone”.
    If I hold the power and home button together, it disconnects the USB connection and then reconnects it (iTunes then prompting me to restore). The screen stays black, no logo, no anything.
    When I clicked restore, it downloaded 2.1.2. Yes, two-point-one-point-two, instead of the ipsw for 3.1.1. I have no way to see if it is mb or mc. When I tried to manually restore using a 3.1.2 firmware, it says its not the right type. When 2.1.2 is used (the one itunes downloaded) it says extracting etc but then gives me a 1600 error.
