Snow Leopard this Friday

Author : rooster

Well, as was rumored, Apple will now official release Snow Leopard 10.6 this coming Friday the 28th.

Awesome!!

This is a finely tuned update that will streamline Apple’s OS and bring it to the next level.

It is so fast. Go to apple.com and check out some of the benchmarks, they are truly impressive. While there, you can also pre-order the $29.00 update.

As for why Apple is releasing this update before the 9th is a mystery to me.  Any educated guesses?

I hope that with this new and fabulous operating system Apple will release a newer line of computers not too far in the future.  Although most of their lines are either in mid-cycle or beginning-cycle of their release timelines, a new operating system like this will open a lot of new possibilities.

Here is a really cool link that shows you approximately how long it will take for a new Apple product to hit the market.

Apple Date with the Beatles 9-9-09

Author : rooster

Although Apple has not yet confirmed this date, it is expected that the next “release party” is to be on September 9th. On this day, Apple’s top release will most likely be the iPod 3G .  They will mprobably also update the rest of iPod line. Whats more, it is also believed that the Beatles are finally coming to Itunes.  Personally, I hope that they remaster this old Band and bring its sub-par quality up to current standards.

Oh, and Facebook 3.0 is finally in the horizon. A much needed update considering the current version does not support much that makes Facebook so cool.

Itunes 9 is rumored to have facebook support as well…. but don’t bet too much on this haha. It seems like a far shot.

Apple also released a software update that fixes the beeping and hard drive freezing issue that has been occurring on many 15in. MacBook Pros with the 7200RPM 500Gb Hard drive.

Snow Leopard is expected to be released August 28th, why…. I don’t know.

Hope this gets you up to speed.

Apple News

Author : rooster

Here are just some updates I found interesting:

iTunes 9 – Will support Blu-Ray, Twitter/FB, App organization

iMac – Probable due for Blu-Ray update

Google Voice – Planned to be remade in the form of a web-app

8gb iPhone 3Gs – Contrary to my previous statement, I have now heard that it may just be a rumor. But, it is still up in the air.

Snow Leopard OS 10.6 - A sure September release

Macbook Pro - According to many studies and apple trends, Apple’s next release should include a new and improved graphics card. This is, according to LaptopCheck, the only place the Macbook Pro falls short of its otherwise sterling standards. As for the expected release date, I hope it will also arrive in September. . . with the full realization that this would be highly idealistic.

Macbook Pro 15 in. - Is now available with a matte screen just like the 17 in. It will cost you $50 extra but is well worth the green considering the glare on the shiny model.

Also, for anyone interested in a iPod Touch 32gb, that has never been touched, please contact me
(Price is negotiable, use the below email address to receive $25 off!)

iPod Touch 3,1

Author : rooster

Rumors have emerged around the release of a new iPod Touch, the 3,1, coming soon. Apple recently ordered a large amount of cameras (just like the ones for the iPhone 3Gs). My guess is the new iPod Touch and possibly new iPod nano will be equipped with a nice cameras.

As for the release date, my best guess would be that Apple will release the new hardware along with Snow Leopard this coming September. For those of you purchasing MBs between now and September, the price of Snow Leopard will be decreased form $29.95 to $9.95.

No new news from the  Dev Team yet, but I will keep you updated.

Snow Leopard OS 10.6

Author : rooster

This September, Apple will strive to create an even more perfect OS as it releases its newest update for Leopard. Here are some of the many updates it will include:

  • A faster finder
  • 64-bit support
  • Grand Central Dispatch
  • Icon refresh rate has been greatly increased
  • Expose updates – now a dock option
  • Stacks with more features including scrolling and navigating between folders
  • A faster time machine backup (50% faster)
  • Wakes up twice as fast, shuts down 1.75 times as fast, and finds the network 1.5 faster.
  • Installs updates 45% faster
  • Uses up 6gb less space
  • A new quicker, cleaner, and more useful Quicktime X
  • Chinese Character input – allows you to draw characters directly on the trackpad
  • A more reliable and higher resolution iChat
  • More streamlined and intelligent services – a better command click
  • Automatic time zone sync
  • Easy PDF text selection
  • The fastest browser alive – Safari 4 (runs faster on a mac than even Google Chrome)
  • A more reliable disc eject
  • More efficient file sharing – can sync while computer is sleeping
  • Restore deleted item from the Trash
  • You can now watch movies in the finder icon view
  • Assign Spaces
  • HFS+ support for Bootcamp – this allows you to access your Mac files over windows in a read-only format (so you get the files, but not the viruses)
  • Date in the menu bar
  • The new American Writer’s Thesaurus 2.0
  • Safari is more crash resistant. If a plug-in crashes the browser stays active and you merely have to reload the page.
  • Record your screen easily in Quicktime X
  • OpenCL support – an awesome graphics update
  • Xcode has been updated as well – used for the iPhone development platform

So, as you can see, Apple will make some updates intended to refine, not reinvent their already unbelievable OS. The update will cost $29.00 for the majority of users and will only cost $9.95 to those who purchased a mac right before the release.

WWDC is on its way!

Author : rooster

As you may have been expecting, Apple’s infamous World Wide Developers Conference is coming up. In 2008, they showed us the iPhone 3G, the iPhone OS 2.0, Mobile Me, and, of course, the App store! I think we should expect quite something this year.

The expected date for the conference is either May 16-22 or June 6-12. Personally, I believe June would be a better date because old Steve Jobs may make his triumphant return by this time.

As for what they may release, I believe the most notable will be Snow Leopard! This suspicion has been reinforced by the news that Apple has just seeded Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, termed Build 10A286, to the developers.

Well, we will see.

P.S. I heard another really cool thing that may be released in the future: A wireless sync! I wouldn’t get my hopes up for this year’s WWDC but who knows.

Macworld Approaching

Author : rooster

The 2009 Macworld is nearing. Every year Apple presents its new stuff at this keynote. So here are the rumors floating around about this year’s event:

  • Steve Jobs was supposedly very ill and was reported to “not make it to this coming spring” – another failed Steve Jobs death rumor. This was supposedly the reason he will not give the presentation this year. Which is too bad because him giving the keynotes has been a tradition.
  • iLife and iWork ’09 – a given.
  • Mac Mini – just rumors telling that they will have new sleek design.
  • Some nice new Cinema Displays with dual monitor support.
  • IF the tablet iPod does exist (which I doubt) it wouldn’t rear its head quit yet.
  • Sorry, but Snow Leopard will most likely not show up yet either. Its still aways off.

All this isn’t to exciting, but I think this year will bring us some interesting new releases latter on.
keep waiting.
