The current, realistic I might add, speculation concerns the iPod Touch 3 having a 3.2 MP camera (just like the iPhone 3gs). Now you may ask, “well why not an iPhone 4 like camera?” The issue here in-lies in the size of the iPod Touch Model. If Apple keeps their current size and style, which in my opinion is getting a bit old, then there is almost no chance that the new iPod touch will contain any camera over 3.2 MP.

Now, we cannot abandon the reasoning that technology has advanced considerably in the past year or so; and maybe Apple has found a way to fit a smaller camera in the same old housing.

Personally, I hope for a brand new, remastered device.

Additionally, Digitimes reports that the new device will be capable of supporting video and photo as well as sport the new A4 processor currently found within the iPhone 4.

Now I know what you are thinking. . . . iPod Touch right, but no. This source reports that Apple is actually planning on releasing a smaller version of the iPad. The device should be a 5-7 inches and, of course, be appropriately cheaper than the current versions. The device is going to be marketed to group that needs a more portable device; one where text input may not be quite as important.

Digitimes quoted senior analyst Mingchi Kuo, who also works at Digitimes, as “citing talks with upstream component sources,” who have said the smaller iPad will measure between 5 – 7-inches, and will cost under $400 when it goes on sale early 2011. That price is not a stretch by any means of the imagination, considering the cheapest model of the iPad is available today for $499. Oh well, the idea of a mini iPad made me laugh.

Well Mr. Kuo, it makes me laugh as well.

9 to 5 Mac and Mac Rumors both quoted the following tip for the next MBP and MacPro Release:

The MacBook Pro will be released on the same day as Mac Pro. We are scheduled for a Friday morning release but with the amount of updates may be pushed to Tuesday. ipad is number 1 and everything else is as time permits. Look for i5 in base macbook pro with i7 in higher end 15 and 17 inch.

Although this may be another false alarm, I’m hopping for the best!

And could multi-tasking be coming to the iPhone in its next update (4.0)? Although we certainly hope so, there are of course no guarantees with this type of tip either. Here is a quote from a much-trusted John Gruber:

People with a proven track record in predicting Apple’s technological advances tell AppleInsider that the Cupertino-based company has developed a “full-on solution” to multitasking on the iPhone OS but offered no specifics on how the technology would optimize resource conservation and battery life — two of the most critical issues surrounding the matter, alongside security.

iPhone 3G and 3GS unlockers should always be very wary to update their firmware.  This is no exception.  If you make a mistake along the way you may find yourself updating to official 3.1.3 in which case you will lose your unlock, possibly forever.

iPhone 3GS users (regardless of unlock) should stay away from this and all 3.1.3 jailbreak tools unless you know you have your “SHSH hashes” backed up via Cydia.  That’s because if you make a mistake you may find yourself stuck at official 3.1.3 with no way to jailbreak or come back down to 3.1.2 to jailbreak.

If you really truly feel that you need to update, this version creates a custom 3.1.3 IPSW for you to restore to on your iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS with early bootrom, iPod touch 1G, and iPod touch 2G with early bootrom.  If you don’t know if you have an early bootrom or not, please avoid updating until you learn more.

Apple has removed the restrictions surrounding Voice Over Internet Protocol in the new iPhone OS SDK. This means that users may now use VoIP services over 3G networks. iCall, the first of a presumable plethora of VoIP apps to be released, is already available on the App store.

Toshiba has announced its creation of 64GB chips. Since the iPhone only has one storage slot as opposed to the iPod Touch’s two slots, we will probably see 64GB iPhones and 128GB iPod Touches in the near future.

The World Wide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) is rumored to take place on either June 28th or July 2nd.

Second: the new iMacs are supposed to be very slim and also undergo a price decrease.

Third: The new line of Macbooks are supposed to be redesigned polycarbonate slimmer versions of the older models.

Fourth: New Mac Minis are also supposed to be released soon. These are expected to have minor speed boosts.

Fifth: The mighty mouse is getting mightier. Apple is also releasing a new model of their mouse as well as keypad. The keypad is expected to be slightly smaller and both are going to utilize the latest blue tooth technology.

Dropbox arrives at the App Store:
I thought the release of this really cool new app is noteworthy as well. Dropbox is a free application that gives you up to 2gb of storage.

NEW iMACS!
Supposedly, since Apple has cut orders for their old line of iMacs, a new line is on the horizon (as early as Oct. 9th). My biggest question here is if they will incorporate Blu-Ray Technology AND cut costs. I’m hoping for both but only time will tell.
