If you have come to the conclusion that the high-flying jailbreak lifestyle is not for you. . . or managed to screw up your device software enough that you want to switch back, don’t worry even a tad.

Parenthetically,
I might add, it is also wise to un-jailbreak your device pending a visit to the Apple store (for the warranties!)

All you need is your device’s latest firmware file, which can be found here.

This time, backing up is not an option; a clean restore will wipe everything from your device so make sure you backup all your apps, pics, music, and vids to your computer before un-jailbreaking.

1. Open iTunes and plug your doomed device in

2. Shift-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac) the “Restore” button in your iTunes device summary page. Browse to the firmware you’ve downloaded, and restore.

3. After this is completed, iTunes will ask if you want to restore the device. After restoring . . . the lifestyle choice is upon you once again. . .chose wisely pirate.

   my x boyfriend jail broke my daughters ipod touch he is now gone and we could never let the ipod shut off or run out of power or it is locked up. my daughter did good with it for 8 months but has recently let it die and now i only have an apple on the front screen. it dont do anything can anyone help me get it back up so i can take the jail break off it she is only 7 and has a hard time keeping it charged and i dont know how to fix it everytime she forgets to charge it or she shuts it off by mistake. if you can please email me at address shown for answer i am not computer savey and just now found this site and dont know if i will get the response. thank you very much so does my daughter
