I think p2p would be awesome. The ideal p2p client for ipod touch/iphone would put songs straight into the library after prompting the user for the name, artist and album. Also if all songs on the ipod were automatically shared and availiable to other clients using some kind of protocol would make nearly every song you could want avaliable.

Somebody should really make a tutorial on how to modify the iPod’s os, or how to write apps, so I could help. I’ve been playing with files in the filesystem, but theyre all jibberish…I also want landscape support for the springboard(maybe a virtual clickwheel on the right side, and a rotating menu with apps on the left) If somebody could teach me how to customize the os, i could probably do this myself. What I would like, since the I touch has wifi capability, an app that will pull down podcasts without having to physically sync the device. My nano holds nothing but podcasts and I don’t have a primary computer with a decent internet connection. Being able to pull down my ‘casts whenever I have a wifi connection would be awesome.
Also some way to carry around a dozen or so PDFs without having a internet connection would be handy. 50lbs of tech manuals would be easier to lug about in pdf than paper.

Tyson, After you Jailbreak it, you can use a program called Mobile Cast.
“Download and listen to your podcasts without syncing with Itunes”.
That should do the trick for you.

I would like to be able to use my touch to power and record video from my 1st gen iSight. There are iPod to firewire cables out there (even though Apple doesn’t make them anymore). What are the obstacles to such a hack? Is it feasible? It would become a great little camera with this hack.

hey guys i was wondering has anyone figures out how to connect to WPA Wifi’s i go to TAMU and we have to enter a login and password specific to each student, and when i try to connect it only asks me for a password so probleem being university wont let me connect. From what i understand its possile on iphone but i havent been able to figure it out? ny insight would greatly help

okies i think the most important and coolest things to have on the ipod touch would be:
* email, where it auto downloads to the itouch without disrupting or deleting emails from the main computer
* Gps like maps that you can save to your itouch to take in the car
* and Skype would be awesome!! no need for iphone!! lol

IM client that can connects to multiple IM network. PDF reader. World clock that shows a few cities’ timing.

extra codecs would be nice so we dont have to re-encode xvid movies to mp4 prior to watching them, and not sure if its out or not but a way to upload them to the ipod touch without having to use itunes since itunes wont recognize xvid movies.

Alot of the things requested by users above is already available. Jailbreak your ipod and look through the Installer. You can find many of the things listed about such as: iPhone apps, chat clients, and much more.

Go to YouTube.com and search for “ipodtouchmaster”. He has the most helpful videos on hacking your ipod. Very detailed; and leaves nothing out. A few of the things his videos feature: Jailbreaking ipod, downloaded free mp3s directly to ipod touch, psx emulator, nintendo ds emulator, how to use cuteFTP pro to access ipod files, how to get cuteFTP pro free for life. I have a great idea for a ipod touch/iphone app…well it would be more of a tweak to the safari software. Safari doesnt allow access to local files at all so if anyone could fix that it would allow me and the blazebyte members to start work on a portal for it

i was wondering if you had a tutorial for downgrading to 1.1.1, i followed some on youtube but i always get some error (1) and it never finishes, i almost got it stuck in disk mode twice. it took me like an hour of playing around to finally get to to re upgrade to 1.1.3.

i think i playlist editor would b great that would change the playlists in itunes if possible… so that u could edit not only a single on the go playlist but all other playlists by changing their order or adding/removing songs and renaming them
