The iPod was introduced in October 2001 by Apple and has become the market leader for mp3 players with over 100 million iPods sold. Apple iPod’s currently have over 70% market share in the mp3 market. The success is largely due to the simple interface and the complementing iTunes software which makes managing your music and iPod a breeze.

The iPhone was announced in early 2007 and was then released in June 2007. Apple has sold 1 million iphones to date.
