    To Jailbreak 2G and prior just point safari on the itouch/phone to jailbreakme.com a move the slider that’s it. Newer phones are more difficult and require specialized software, or versions of software. Generally Itunes 9.2 can do most of everything, but to backtrack firmware on newer devices research a program called Umbrella.

    You will find several “snow” titled websites that do Jailbreak all current devices, but its called a tethered Jailbreak and that’s something you don’t want, because this means every time you restart your ipod needs to be connected to a the same PC.

    hi umm im doing this on my ipod touch 3g 4.2.1 using smartftp on windows xp and i enter my name as root password as alpine and the ip address and it doesnt show any file i have SSH turned on on my ipod anyone know whats wrong.
