It’s been an exciting week due to the fact that the SNES emulator for the iPod Touch has been released.  I must say that I was probably one of the first people to download the full public release, not the beta version.

While this is the first version of the public release, it is not without problems.  I think this is expected at this point.  It took quite some time for the NES emulator to run as smoothly as it does now and there are still even minor problems with it.

I have been playing around with it for a few days now and have tested a good amount of SNES ROMs.  Some of these roms work great, while others are barely playable.  I would expect to see this improved with every new update.

Donkey Kong Country 2
Status: Working
Problems: None.

EarthBound
Status: Working
Problems: None.

Kirby Super Star
Status: Working
Problems: SLOW.

StarFox
Status: Barely Working
Problems: SLOW, Ships and other 3-D objects flash, Crashes often.

Super Mario: RPG
Status: Barely Working
Problems: Crashes often.

Zombies Ate my Neighbors
Status: Working
Problems: On the character select screen, you cannot see the characters.

Chrono Trigger
Status: Sweet
Problems: None

Donkey Kong Country 3
Status: Working
Problems: None

Final Fantasy VI
Status: Working
Problems: None

Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past
Status: Working (Super Smooth)
Problems: None

Mortal Kombat II
Status: Working
Problems: Slightly Laggy

Mega Man X 3
Status: Working
Problems: Laggy in Spots

Sim City 2000
Status: Working
Problems: No Cursor on main menu.

F-Zero
Status: Working
Problems: Very Laggy

Mortal Kombat 3
Status: NOT WORKING
Problems: Does not load (maybe just my version)

Super Metroid
Status: NOT WORKING
Problems: Does not load to Main Menu

Super Mario World
Status: Working
Problems: Sprites act funny and disappear sometimes.

Super Mario All-Stars
Status: Working
Problems: In Super Mario Bros., Mario disappears for a short time after going from big Mario to small Mario.

   ROMs can be found all over the internet, just use google
   and to put ROMs on your iPod youll need to SSH into your ipod and put ROMs into
   /private/var/root/Media/ROMs/SNES
   this should work for both 1.1.3 and 1.1.2
