Well, it looks like there is a new solution to jailbreak your iPod Touch and iPhone. Hackers have just released a new open source solution that allows you to jailbreak your iPod by just going to the site: jailbreakme.com. It will then use the tiff exploit and will then allow you to install AppSnapp. This will then jailbreak your iPod and allow you to install applications and games to your iPod Touch/iPhone. This is the easiest jailbreak solution yet and I really don’t think it can get much easier then this!

This is simply amazing.
One question though, can you download apps off the net with the Touch/Phone and install it without the use of a computer? I suspect that there would be a need for an unarchiving tool for this to happen.

Has anyone had any trouble w/ their wifi? And where do I find the Google Maps and Mail apps for the Ipod Touch in the community thingie?
-
Just downloaded it, seems to be making the touch run really slow, and the Installer refused to load after an update. I’ll see how it acts later, but it’s still great to be unlocked, finally.

what happens when apple comes out with this themselves wont u be in trouble like not being to update or other things like that??

Worked like a charm on two iPod touches a couple of us have here at work. Just posted a demo video of the jailbreak in action:

Teslanaut: The jail break process installs an installation app that will install apps that are listed in online repositories. As long as your connected to the internet, you’ll never need to touch your computer.
12345: Much like the Sony PSP the community will probably release a modified version of apples updates to get the features but keep your ipod jailbroken.
MrGreen: Yes.

From ZD Net:
http://blogs.zdnet.com/Apple/?p=1010&tag=nl.e589iPhone firmware 1.1.2 thwarts TIFF exploit
Apple has release iPhone firmware 1.1.2 in an attempt to close the TIFF exploit which could be used to jailbreak and hack iPhones running firmware 1.1.1. The TIFF exploit is best implemented at JailbreakMe.com which allows you to jailbreak and hack an iPhone or iPod touch, add Installer.app, fix YouTube, then repair Safari’s TIFF exploit hole so that the exploit loophole is closed–right from the device itself.

OMG!!! It worked fine for me!!!

hey i need the iphone apps!!! what can i do i allready tried one thing and it didnt work soo what is the best???
-
Yea how do i add extra apps from the pc, like the iphone apps, after doing this?
-
so it is the instant jailbreak that is a prob, it wont let you use the program to create the iphone apps so has aneyone else found a different wat to do it??
-
OK. I went to jailbreakme.com with my ipod touch, did what it said, now i have installer and I have a long list of extra stuff to install.
BUT, how do I install the NES emulator?????
I can’t find a site that clearly tells you step by step how to do it. The people on YouTube don’t do such a good job either. EVERYTHING IS OUT OF FOCUS and they talk to fast. I just want someone to tell me how to install the NES emulator FROM THE BEGINNING.
Also, how can I view my ipod as a drive under the windows directory? I’m able to do that with my first generation nano but not with the touch. Will I need to be able to do that to get Nintendo on it?

Please help me! I have installed the jailbreak on my ipod and now it is freezing. It will not lete me get past the apple logo when the phone is restarted

Wednesday,
you just have to wait.
-
all you need to do is use itunes version 4.5 to restore your ipod to version 1.1 (the new version will only update not downgrade your iPod) press shift then select restore and choose the 1.1 firmware file (can be downloaded from the apple site or search google for link) then wait for it to complete and visit jailbreakme to jailbreak ya ipod good luck.
