   When it detects your device, a screen with your ipod will pop up. it will say update or restore. Hold shift and click restore.

   Ummm… I’m getting an error: “The iPod “iPod could not be updated. An error has occured.” And, I’m not sure if this was supposed to happen, but all my media files were erased from the iPod!

   Retry again. I think you messed up somewhere with iPwner so watch out for that.

   I should be more specific! The error messege appears when I try to get the iPod running 2.0.1! Before using WinPwn!

    Important, when getting Error 6 at the end, just do it all again, step by step, and always close the programs you don not need, then it works fine. i tried it several times and now i am where i wanted to be. I think my mistake was to keep itunes open when handling with winpwn.

    Thank you soo soo soo much! I was worried it would like break or something but it’s restoring right now with the pretty rainbow apple and says iPwned with WinPwn.

    ps. If your iPod is stuck in DFU and Windows says it’s malfunctioning, make sure the USB is straight into the CP, with no 4-way ports or anything. I was freaked out for a few minutes there, but now I’m good

    For anyone who is getting error 6 during restore, your ipod is not being put into dfu mode properly!! I had this problem untill I found out restore is not the same thing as dfu. If you see the connect to itunes screen you haven’t done it correctly

    It won’t let me download the 2.0.1 firmware. I already purchased it legally so can i skip the browse .ipsw step and go straight to the ipsw builder step. If not can anyone tell me where i can download the 2.0.1 firmware from?? Thanks

    Still waiting to hear if Itunes and the itunes store still work after doing this. I know the jailbreak for 1.1.4 allowed it, but haven’t heard about this one.

    Now i have question if someone can help me, is there anywhere i can get a good 1.1.4 firmware because i am tryin to restore my ipod back so i can try the 1.1.4 jailbreak. I have downloaded a few but none seem to work for me.

    I want to know if the apple in the startup of ipod touch turns into a pineapple or something like that (like quickpwn) ’cause i didn’t like that pineapple at all. I want to keep the Apple’s apple! ;D

    umm i have a problem…when i do the dfu mode, after 10 sec i let go of sleep and then once i hear the sound, a window also pops up saying waiting for ipod… and a status bar under it. i let go and it crashes. if i wait for bar to get full, it doesnt let me install the custom fw

    For people looking for a link to download the Ipod Touch Firmware 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 for free these are the links.

    For the first link is for 2.0.2 and the second for 2.0.1.
    In the first link go to Iphone/Ipod Touch and select the last firmware and click download. In the second link just click on Ipod Touch Firmware 2.0.1. Some say the second link doesnt work but the first one surely does I am downloading 2.0.2 firmware right now from it
