works great! but when i try to fix the tiff exploit it wont allow me. it says “main script execution failed” how do i fix that?

Not work. When tap on the Install AppSnap. The browser go to the link /files/y.tiff but nothing hapend.
Only load a simple white screen with a little gray dot on the top left corner.
Maybe the file is missing? -
When I scroll to the bottom of the page on safari, there is no button to install AppSnap – and I donated too!! How do I do it?

trent the way to kno if u got 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 is on ur itouch go into setting and click on about then u’ll see wat firmware u got and it wont mess up and if it dont jus post a comment and ill answer it

I have problem when i try to jailbreak my ipod touch.
I have 1.1.1 firmware. when im go into jailbeakme.com in my ipod with safari and click on install AppSnaps, safari crash, but no process bar appear and it doesnt download or install anything. just goes in ipods menu icons.
Thats all.

I found that after the downgrade, the ipod needed powering off and the on again before the jailbreakme.com install would go. Just my 2 cents

for all of you who are saying “i got a little square in the top left of my screen after going to the link” ur problem is u havent downgraded ur firmware from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 yet. u will need to go here

download that. thats the 1.1.1 firmware.
save the file to ur desktop, and open itunes with ur ipod connected, go to ur iPod tab and u will see that “check for update button. hold down the shift key and click that, and browse to the desktop and open that firmware file to begin rolling back to 1.1.1. then visit the link above in safari and follow the steps.

Works like a charm…People must not be following directions! The only thing that I find annoying is the need to unlock every time I hit the home button.

I have 1.1.1 installed. Strong Wifi connection. Done the jailbreakme.com exploit.
However, when I run installer it hangs on “Checking Sources” for several mins then drops back to the main menu. Sometime is goes past this stage and then displays “sources not found” message.I am accessing the internet via a wireless card (PC) setup as an access point rather than a wireless router. I don’t think the should cause a problem, Safari seems to work properly (although it doesn’t like facebook). Any ideas ???

i don’t know if this helps but when i was pressing on the install app link on jailbreakme.com then safari would just crash and nothing was happening, though when i went to jailbreakme.com/files/y.tiff directly then it worked fine for me

Just to answer a few questions here:
1. If you are having problems downgrading your ipod from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1, Follow these easy steps:
-Download the 1.1.1 firmware
-Plug in your ipod and go into itunes
-Go to your ipod where it tells you your firmware and crap and SHIFT-Click the Restore button
-Pick the 1.1.1 firmware you downloaded (WARNING: this will erase all your songs, photos, and videos so back them up)
-Let Itunes do its thing
-VIOLA! 1.1.1 Ipod(by the way, downgrading your ipod I’ve heard is pretty darn safe compared to other electronic devices like the PSP. It’s kinda hard to really “mess up” your ipod by doing this)
2. If your 1.1.1 ipod won’t install appsnap, try again. For instance, my ipod kept on exiting out of safari and going back to the main menu. No worries, it’s not a bug or anything. Just try again. After around 4 tries, it finally kicked into gear. Just don’t give up.
3. Under installer, if anything you want to download fails, try again or try again later. That happened to me with the gba emulator.
4. If you want to put anything into your ipod without using itunes, you’re going to have to do it wirelessly. SSHing into it is the best way I’ve found. It’s fast and easy. Go here:

to learn how to SSh into your ipod. Files and video tutorial included.5. If your Ipod goes screwy after downgrading, re-downgrade it. Just follow the tutorial again. My brother’s ipod we thought got bricked after downgrading. The screen went blank and it wouldn’t turn on, but a quick run through the downgrading process and it was back to life.
Remember, don’t give up and just keep on trying.

Hey everytime i click the Install AppSnapp it sits on the site loading until my ipod auto-locks (which i have set to 5 minutes) and then when i turn it back on and unlock it.. it just takes me back to the main menu… help please? thanks

Works great but you have to have version 1.1.1 on your ipod. To do so download the 1.1.1 restore file to desktop and open itunes and hold shift and click check for updates, select the 1.1.1 file and your good to go

I had my touch jailbroke for about a month just fine, had used jailbreakme perfectly the first time around, but then installer somehow became corrupted, and after failed attempts to fix I decided to just start from scratch, I downgraded, just as before, to 1.1.1, except now when I point my mobilesafari to any of the tiff exploit sites, (jailbreakme, toc, etc etc etc), it seems the tiff is still patched. I have redownloaded the firmware, re downgraded/restored, confirmed I’m on 1.1.1, but no matter what I can seem to sploit the thing.

I downgraded to 1.1.1 did the jailbreakme and everything was fine then tried to update to 1.1.2 and now my iTouch wont boot up past the silver apple screen and neither iTunes or my computer can see it..

I just realised that its downloading it apparently….my wi-fi sucks i guess. and to Nathan: Yes. I tried it with 1.1.2 installed and it like skrewed it up so i couldnt connect to safari or view anything, then I restored it to 1.1.1 that i downloaded, and its fine.

Listen:
1. Download the firmware
2. Start your ipod in recovery mode by holding Home and On/Off button. Keep them pressed until your ipod screen turns black. Then keep holding Home but let go off On/Off. Your ipod should be plugged into your computer. Your computer will detect this recovery mode start.
3. Holding Option/Alt on your keypads, click restore your ipod and then find the file on your computer for 1.1.1
4. Let it do its thing
5. Then put all your music back on, SETTING UP AS A NEW!!!! iPod.
6. Once thats done, go to jailbreakme.com and scroll to the bottom.
7. Click install AppSnapp and again let it do its thing
8. Click Installer and then install whatever your heart desires…. -

I just downgraded my iPod from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1 and then jail broke it, using the website jailbreakme.com. I installed the BSD subsystem, launcher, and OpenSSH. However, I still cannot find some of the applications I want, such as Maps or Notes or Weather. Every website I’ve come to says that there should be an iPhone or iPod touch folder when you go to install and there’s the list of categories, but I do not see this. Am I missing an application/source (I added the repo source to my sources, so I still don’t understand)?

This guys a dude and shows you how to downgrade and hack you ipod touch.

Also, once youve intalled the installer, you can then dwnload tweaks that upgrade the jailbroken item to be upgraded to 1.1..2/3. then you just upgrade, but DO NOT restore. Theres a 1.1.4 patch being made up at the mo but hasnt been released yet.
Also you do need to input community sites to get the ssh, im looking into it now -

you’re all a bunch of retards!!! download 1.1.1 firmware from somewhere. (find it yourself) save it to your desktop. then press shift+left click on the “restore button” find the 1.1.1 firmware in the box that opens. it will downgrade your ipod. then get on your safari (yes you have to have wi-fi on) and go to jailbreakme.com. your springboard will appear and there will be a little loading symbol in the middle. then you ipod will go back to the unlock screen. when you slid then little thingy, there will be a new icon called “installer” click on it and get some games and stuff. when you are downloading and a download fails, make sure to press “clear cache” before retying it. you can add your own souces in the “soouces” tab. have fun retards!

My iPod didn’t let me go into apps i previously purchased before and it downloads other apps you CANNOT delete. But if you don’t want it anymore, then hook your iPod/iPhone to iTunes and go to your device, then it should say RESTORE. Click it.

okay honestly if you cant use this then your an idiot because if you have a mc modl it is nearly impossible for you to jailbreak your ipod but if you have another model well your all set to prove i just jailbroke my ipod touch 2nd gen. but i didnt have iOS 1.1.1 i actually had iOS 4.0
