Geoshot has done a wonderful job of making this hack easy and simple to use.

Here it is!

Instructions and tips:

• Clean firmware 3.1.2 and baseband 05.11.07 are recommended.
• Blacksn0w is also available on Cydia, add blackra1n.com as repo (requires firmware >= 3.1 and baseband 05.11.07)
• Windows Tutorial
• Mac Tutorial

Known Issues and fixes:

• There is currently an issue with “push” and “youtube” but the dev-team will release a fix shortly.
• Some WiFi issues have also come up. Merely reset your “Network Settings” to fix this.

   it worked! i have an i pod touch 3g and i have been trying to jailbreak for about a month. i have tried everything. this one didn’t work either the first time but then i tried it again and it worked just like that. click make it rain and if it doesn’t work the first time, just run it again with out pressing anything but make it rain. that’s what i did and it worked. try it if you want. hope it workes for you! peace…

   Another easy one from geohotz is Blackra1n.com exactly the same and download rock instead of cydia it is way faster easier and shows previews of what you are downloading and also has all the apps cydia has and even more.

    hey this really works great but when ever i turn my ipod completely of or the battery runs out all the way and turn it back on it says i have to restore my ipod. Ihave to restore my ipod each time and reinstall everything

    you dont have to restore each time!!! when that screen pops up on your ipod saying to restore, just run blackra1n again
