I have been using 1.1.4 and installer for a few months fine, and suddenly the installer stops working. It opens, i can browse apps, and when i click download, it shows the download bar, then the installing bar, then it goes back to the home page of the ipod (without locking it like usual) and the app is not installed. Something like this happened to me on earlier versions than 1.1.4, where something with the installer.app suddenly goes array.

Carver well some apps cant be installed sometimes because they still have issues but if you see something that says clear queue click it

I tried jailbreaking and didnt work. I have the Ipod Touch 8G and now itunes will not recognize so i can re update it to factory firmware. Someone please help.

So I’m using firmware 1.1.4 and jailbroke it through ZiPhone with no problems. after having it jailbroken for a while, all of a sudden my settings dissapear and are not accessible. Is there anyway to bring it back? Thanks.
ihad the same problem and i had to go into recovery mode and rejailbreak
i tried to jailbreak my ipod and it froze in the middle and kept scrolling white letters. now itunes wont detect it so i cant restore it. can you please help?
I saw a neat app for laptops on YouTube the other day, and I was wondering if someone could check it out and see if can be installed on the ipod touch. Its called ‘Easy WiFi Radar, and can be downloaded at http://www.makayama.com. I downloaded the site to the sources on my ipod, but it will not show up under the install page. Just wondering if we could get it to the ipod, I think it would make a handy little tool.

Well kayla there is a way to fix that using recovery mode.
Recovery mode
1) Exit itunes.
2) With the touch plugged in, hold sleep and home button until it shuts off, but KEEP holding them until the apple comes back on.
3) When you see the apple, let go of the sleep button but still hold the home button until the “connect to iTunes” screen appears.
4) Then, start up iTunes and it should recognize that your ipod needs to be restored and it worked for me that time.
try this and your itouch will be back to normal
I successfully jailbroke my touch tonight, but now it wont let me download anything. an error comes up reading “Package download failed. cant find host”
If anyone knows how i could either fix this or get around it your help would be great

hi, ive successfully jailbroken my ipod, but when tried to enter contacts to fix the freezing keyboard problem, it freezes up on me as well! PLEASE HELP ME!!
CHRIS: I jailbroke my iPod touch and had the same problem. It’s because you have to be in a WiFi area to access the internet, and to install any Packages. Go to somewhere like Starbucks or Panera Bread, access the WiFi, and then you should be good to install stuff.

Do you know, on average, how many gigs an application takes up, such as Super Mario or something like that? I’m just wondering so i will know how big of an iTouch to get (8gb, 16gb, or 32gb).

I’ve recently purchased a 16g iPod touch, and I got problems recharging the battery through USB.
I use Windows 2000 because I don’t like how Xp works needless to mention Vista; I’ve been looking for a solution on the web and in this forum, but found none.
The iTunes most updated version for Windows 2000 is 7.3.2, though it seems you shouldn’t need iTunes to recharge your battery. My USB drivers are 2.0, as I’ve seen otherwise could not work.
And that’s all. It is said that apple has put some kind of firewall, “protection” or call it as you want to prevent using new iPod or iPhone touch with any other thing different from XP, Vista or Mac.
On apple appears some article called “How to recharge the battery with Windows 2000″ but it doesn’t works.
Now I’ve seen this web with Jailbreak and I wonder if I could bypass this problem with it.
Any ideas ?

I’ve got a ipod touch 32gb and i’ve just jailbreaked it with ziphone which went fine. but when i come to install any of the applications i just keep get the error message: package download failed: can’t find host. my ipod is connected to the internet so i don’t understand. much thanks to anyone who can help.
also I’ve discovered that i can’t connect through safari either so i don’t know what it could be. please help.
Like a few people i pressed the first tab in jailbreak prog an my ipod touch 1.14 wouldnt charge and itunes wouldnt detect it i tried a hard reboot but nothing worked so after two days of pulling my hair out i finally got my ipod back on track here is the best method if this has happened to you.
click on start and then on search
type in Apple mobile device
windows will find these files
click on the file that says Apple Mobile Device Support
there are 3 files that say this name so click on the 3rd one down on the list (12,000kb)
when prompted click on “repair file”
when repair file has finished run itunes and it will pick up your ipod
click on restore
when itunes has restored your ipod it will think its an iphone an ask you to insert sim if this happens just restart itunes
and there you have your ipod completly restored

hey i just got a 16GB itouch… and i’ve been installing apps like you wouldnt believe… but it says that i have run out of disk space, but when i check my ipod specs it says i still got 14+ of free space! how can this be?

I recently got my MacBook back after the hard drive decided to kill itself. I decided to try and upload my songs and photos to the new drive, something I’ve done before with iPod Rip (which can’t find iPod Touches thanks to the lack of a Disk Drive Enabling…) and used TouchCopy- very good indeed. Now… all my photos are gone. Because iTunes decided it didn’t want them. But I do, and I want them back, but can’t seem to access the Touch as just a drive. Is there a way to get it to appear on the Desktop as a flash drive?
I just did the 1.1.3 jailbreak posted on this site. It was a great success…problem is, ijailbreak repository is having problems with their remove 1.1.3 upgrade and fix mail passwords. I’ve emailed about it, but they havn’t resolved it. I get a failed download error whenever i try to install either of those 2, but yet, i was able to install the 1.1.3 software update thing also in the guide from the same repository. I’ve got around 400mb of space from the upgrade that I would love to remove, any alternatives? also, is the Fix Mail Passwords really important? if its just for the mail application(which i will most likely never use).

Ok answering some questions. 1 Package error just clear the queue,collaspe game yea i’ll try to make it,in installer your limit is 300mbs unless u find a program to override that like i used 300mb killer,and if u have the jaunary package or whatever you should jailbreak because you can get them back for FREE
What if I have cleared the queue several hundreds of times, refreshed the source several times and to still no avail?:(

I have big problem! I have try to install ZiPhone on Itouch and the program find iPod. He start to install and on the end on computer screen was message “if your ipod do nothing 10 min then restart application ” (something like theta)! I have close ZiPhone and nothing, then i close iTunes and again nothing, then i have plug out cable from iTouch and there was message on screen:
“ApplwsS5L8900XIpodHAL: :message
IOIpodUSBDevice: : gated_message cable removed, stopping stack ”
and then cams message:
“BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0″!!!!!
What to do now, if someone know what to do please tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey i just jailbroke my ipod and everything is working fine but when i download games and apps it comes up with an error “Error, Package download error”. Safari works and im connected to the net but i still cant download, ive tryed clearing the queue but still nothing….

I was going to say clear the queue, but you said you did that already. Maybe the source you’re trying to get from is down right now. Sometimes when the source is down you get errors like that. Try reinstalling Installer or turning off and on your device. That sometimes helps. Hope all goes well!
i already jailbroke my ipod touch 16, and also installed some applications (like iZoo) , but i wasnt able to open it because i dont know where to find the application. i cant find the icon of izoo on home.. help please..

hello again, i have a question about changing the theme of my itouch. i want to change the main page with all the icons into something different. i downloaded a blacklight theme off the INSTALLER and on the MORE INFO page it shows the wallpaper with new icons. but when i set it to the blacklight theme on SETTINGS: General option, it doesnt change the theme of my itouch, only the hold page. is there a way to do this or is it only on iphones? please and thank you.

Ok i just got my friends ipod because i was going to jailbreak it and i did the ziphone clicked windows and i got all the things onto my desktop, then the box popped up and said jailbreak under actions clicked it everything went fine my ipod restarted all the white gibberish came up and it kept saying BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0 …. over and over and over. Then i tried turning it off, didn’t work looked on this forum held down power button and home button turned off, held those down until it turned back on and held the home button but nothing happened the white word gibberish came back up. Tried it over and over and over. didn’t work, plugged it in and tried to reboot it. but it wouldn’t be detected by itunes.
