Apple just released the new iPhone 3G S, so here is a summary of what the new iPhone is really about:
Improvements:
- The iPhone has a longer battery.
- Better gaming graphics.
- A better 3 mp camera with a selective focus feature in which you just touch the area you want the camera to focus on.
- Web pages render more quickly.
- And it is remarkably more responsive (the apps open instantly). They claim it is 2X as fast!
New features:
- A video camera with a trimming feature. Video recording, VGA up to 30 fps with audio.
- Voice Control: Just hold the home button to activate. This feature allows you to play playlists, individual artists, make calls, ask what song is playing at the moment, tell it to shuffle, tell it to pause or play or move to the next song, or even to make a genius playlist.
- Compass: This highly precise compass app allows maps to orient themselves the direction you are facing.
- Cut, Copy, & Paste works across all apps. Just Double tap and drag to select and copy or paste.It even copies images!
- Make a mistake: just shake to undo your copy or pasting.
- MMS: send pictures or videos.
- Voice Memos: Includes an app that allows you to do just that. This even includes a decibel reading and a trimming feature.
- Search is included in your email, calendar, notes, ipod, etc.
- Spotlight: searches across all the apps.
- Landscape keyboard while texting, landscape view in stocks, email, and notes.
- Internet Tethering. Surf the web from practically anywhere. Now you can share the 3G connection on your iPhone with your Mac notebook or PC laptop.
- Accessibility for the visually or auditorally impaired.

The iPhone 3G has gone down to $99 and the 3G S will start at $199 for the 16gb and $299 for the 32Gb.
Most of these updates are available with the software update to 3.0. Please be a bit patient for the Jailbreakable version.
